New Behind-the-Scenes Video: Inside The Walking Dead's Zombie Eyes

Despite the abrupt departure of Frank Darabont from AMC's "The Walking Dead", we have to admit that everything we've seen so far from the upcoming Season 2 of the show has been encouraging. Case in point: today's behind-the-scenes video in which "The Walking Dead"'s contact lens tech Gazal Trabizpor describes what goes into giving zombies their ghastly stare.

What turns an everyday human into a walking, biting member of the undead? Some might say the sallow skin or the open wounds or the bloody teeth. All valid arguments. But to really sell an undead soul, you have to have the eyes. This season, Trabizpor explains, the new contact lenses are "a little more gruesome, a lot more detailed..."

Watch the video below to see first-hand the eyes of the enemy.

Kicking off a two-week long Fearfest, AMC will once again present viewers with a 90-minute premiere episode of "The Walking Dead", airing at 9:00 PM ET on Sunday, October 16th, with six one-hour episodes in the weeks following. The final six episodes of the season will commence on Sunday, February 12th at 9:00 PM ET. The 90-minute version will also be launched globally on all Fox International Channels, following the US premiere the week of October 17th-23rd. Season Two will reach FOX audiences in 122 countries, speaking 35 languages and will be seen by over 200 million households globally.

In this latest season of AMC's "The Walking Dead" TV series, now helmed by Glen Mazzara, the survivors arrive at Hershel's Farm, where we will meet Hershel Greene (Scott Wilson), a vet (as in a veterinarian); his daughter, Maggie (Lauren Cohan); and Otis (Pruitt Taylor Vince), the middle-aged ranch foreman who’s such a sweetheart that he all but loses it when he accidentally shoots a fellow survivor. The new cast members join series regulars Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, Sarah Wayne Callies as Lori Grimes, Jon Bernthal as Shane Walsh, Laurie Holden as Andrea, Jeffrey DeMunn as Dale, Steven Yeun as Glenn, and Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes.
