Clifton Collins, Jr. Joins Pacific Rim

Well, we can now add yet another great actor to the ever growing list of talent lining up for active duty in the latest big screen creature feature, Pacific Rim. We only pray the monsters will be as good as this cast!

According to Variety veteran character actor Clifton Collins, Jr. (pictured right) is diving into Pacific Rim, joining Charlie Hunnam, Ildris Elba and Charlie Day in Guillermo del Toro’s mega-monster pic for Legendary Pictures.

Travis Beacham is writing the alien invasion story set in Japan. Del Toro’s monsters vs. mechas action movie is being executive produced by Callum Greene and will start shooting in Toronto on the Pinewood soundstages from October 31, 2011 until April of 2012.

Pacific Rim is slated for a July 21, 2013 release date from Warner Bros.
