Dimension Nabs Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo's Livid

It's been a pretty good news week thus far. A new Evil Dead is on the way. A director's cut of Mimic is seeing the light of day. Basket Case is hitting Blu-ray. And now? The Inside duo of Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo's latest shocker, Livid, has found distro!

From the Press Release: Dimension Films has acquired French language horror film LIVID directed by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo from SND (Groupe M6). The film stars Marie-Claude Pietragalla, Chloe Coulloud, and Felix Moati and marks the second collaboration with Dimension Films and duo Maury and Bustillo, who previously directed INSIDE. The announcement was made by Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company (TWC).

LIVID is a horror fairytale set during Halloween night when three youths decide to burglarize an old lady's desolate house, but what awaits them is no ordinary house...

“We are thrilled to be back in business with Julien and Alex and couldn’t be more excited to help bring their frightening vision to fans everywhere,” said Bob Weinstein.

“It’s a pleasure to collaborate with such a great partner on the LIVID adventure. Dimension is the perfect fit,” declared Lionel Uzan, Director of Acquisitions and Sales of SND. LIVID is produced by Vérane Frédiani and Frank Ribière (La Fabrique 2) and coproduced by SND, Plug FX, and La Ferme.

The company that couldn't be bothered to release Inside on blu ray is distributing their next film.

Hooray, can I expect another bare bones DVD while the rest of the world gets a content filled blu?

I'm hugely excited about this movie and hope I have the chance to buy it in the most up to date format available.

So, apparently the Weinsteins think the French filmmaking duo is talented enough to distribute their films, but not talented enough to give them a shot at a Hellraiser remake? Whatever.
