Macabre Finally Nails Down U.S. Distribution
Two years ago we were treated to the lunacy of an off-the-wall little Asian splatterfest called Macabre, which played sort of like the goriest mix tape you ever dug on. For whatever reason it seemed as if it would be lost on the U.S. as no one stepped up to officially bring it here. Until now.
The good folks over at The Collective and Bloody Disgusting Selects just announced that they've acquired the North American rights to Kimo Stamboel and Timo Tjahjanto's ("The Mo Brothers") Indonesian gore-a-thon Macabre (review here)!
The flick stars Ario Bayu, Julie Estelle, Imelda Therinne, Shareefa Daanish, and Arifin Putra.

Two newlyweds, along with four of their best friends, interrupt their travels to pick up a troubled girl on an abandoned stretch of roadway. When they return her to her ancestral home, the night turns into a crimson-hell for the six friends, who find themselves trapped and hunted down by Dara and her cult-like family of deadly protégés, born and raised to systematically eliminate unsuspecting passersby for one nefarious reason.
