The Wolfman Transforms into the Werewolf for Universal

A while back we reported on Universal Home Entertainment enlisting Michael Tabb to write a sequel to their awkward reboot, The Wolfman. However, it now looks like the studio maybe taking an altogether different approach.

According to MovieHole Tabb's script is being rewritten and reworked to be an original film – almost a reboot of the classic Universal monster movie series. Given how disappointing the last flick was (except to MattFini, who proudly displays a weird type of affection for it), we can't blame them at all.

The site also reports that the project is now untitled, but the moniker Werewolf seems to be popular with the powers-that-be. The project is likely headed before the cameras in the fall, and the studio is said to be talking to prospective directors over the next couple of weeks. Casting will begin shortly thereafter.

More soon!

Hollywood gets more and more ridicutarded with each news item. Who's running the studios these days, lobotomised chimps?

Hahaha ... I'm so happy I was mentioned in this article.

I watched it again a few months ago ... what can I say? I dig it.

The Wolfman did not disappoint me at all. I thought it was a great creature feature.

Bad script the first time so naturally they should get to write another... oh wait, maybe it sucked and someone else should get a shot?

More CGI werewolf transformations... sighs.
