Exclusive Video Interview: David Jaffe Talks Twisted Metal and More
Undoubtedly the Twisted Metal gaming franchise is iconic on many levels. Not only is it the longest running game series out there, but its lead character Sweet Tooth has become somewhat of a horror icon himself amongst the hordes of gaming fans out there.
Fifteen years after David Jaffe unleashed the first Twisted Metal onto unsuspecting gamers, he’s back for the eighth installment in the long-running franchise, which is set for release on October 4, 2011.
Recently Dread Central had the opportunity to visit the Sony PlayStation Studios in San Diego to chat with Jaffe about the latest Twisted Metal game and checked out some of the motion-capture work being done for the game, including some killer scenes with maniacal Sweet Tooth himself.
Check out our two exclusive videos below along with lots of behind-the-scenes images. The first video features Jaffe talking all things Twisted Metal, and the second one has a lot of bonus stuff we couldn’t squeeze into the first video, including Jaffe’s thoughts on doing a slasher game for the PlayStation Move and what his horror influences were when cooking up the delightfully demented original Twisted Metal over 15 years ago. And for you Sweet Tooth fans out there, both videos have some exclusive video sneak peeks of the motion capture work being done for his latest exploits.
Special thanks to Melissa Dolan, David Jaffe and Sony PlayStation for inviting DC out for all the Twisted Metal fun.
