In celebration of darkness and all things creepy and crawly, High Voltage Software has announced that its runaway endless runner sensation, Le Vamp for iOS, will be 50% off its regular price in the App Store this weekend. The critically-acclaimed game has already garnered the prestigious Editor’s Choice in the App Store, as well as rave reviews from both the living and undead.
Since its debut last month, players have flung over 25 million Blood Pigs, smashed over 4 million Pumpkin Piles, and blocked nearly 1.5 million sunbeams—just in time for spring. Despite its astounding success, developer and chief ghoulsitter Eric Nofsinger says that more fresh blood is needed.
“Human players have allowed Le Vamp to be caught by baguette-wielding French villagers 1,107,983 times. We’re putting the app on sale in the hopes of finding newfangled players who can fling Garlic Pigs more deftly and succeed at more than the 303,986 missions already completed.”
The game, available as a universal app for iPhone, iPad, and iPad Touch, offers a novel twist on the endless runner genre; rather than controlling the tiny vampire, whose undead soul makes possession impossible, players use simple gestures in the living world to help Le Vamp traverse the hostile French countryside and return safely to his crypt.
Offering a macabre mix of cartoony and cadaverous, Le Vamp has captured the hearts and souls of gamers on the iTunes App Store, where it averages 4.5 stars, as well as the gruesome critics from Touch Arcade, USA Today, and Gaming Illustrated, among others. There are nine hideously adorable enemies and hazards as well as black magic and upgrades like Sunblock, Bacon Cologne, and Super Fingers to help Le Vamp remain safely undead.
Le Vamp went on sale at midnight April 18 and will remain available for just $0.99 until the morning of Monday April 22, 2013.
