Release Date Follies – Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters and Shelter

Some quick news regarding the releases of two flicks that will (or, in one case, will not) be swimming our way shortly. Get out your calendars, kids! It’s time to make a few changes!
Paramount has announced a March 2, 2012 release date for Tommy Wirkola’s Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D (yes 3D). The flick starring Gemma (Clash of the Titans) Arterton and Jeremy (Dahmer, 28 Weeks Later) Renner as its title characters picks up the fairy tale siblings 15 years after their traumatic gingerbread house incident, which provoked them to become witch bounty hunters.
In other news, Dimension films has yanked the Julianne Moore vehicle from directors Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein, Shelter, from its proposed release date of February 25th. The movie follows a female forensic psychiatrist (Moore) who specializes in debunking multiple personality disorder. When she discovers that her latest patient’s various personalities are all murder victims, she struggles to find a logical explanation for the man’s delusion. We’ll let you know when a new date’s announced or whether it’s being dumped to home video soon.
