Casting News: Miranda Otto Joins Locke & Key

One series we're mega looking forward to is Fox's small screen adaptation of Joe Hill's (the son of Stephen King) Locke & Key. With Mark Romanek on board to direct the pilot episode, it's easy to expect good things. Speaking of which ...

Miranda Otto (pictured right), whom you may remember from a couple of little movies called Lord of the Rings and War of the Worlds, has boarded the show to play Nina Locke, the alcoholic mother of Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode.

For those not playing along, Locke & Key revolves around three kids who end up watching over a secret, spooky New England mansion filled with mystical doors that transport them to different worlds and give them special powers (like turning into a ghost).

Josh Friedman ("Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") will write the pilot.
