Liner Notes for "A Good Marriage":
What, I ask you, is more of an American success story than a good marriage? It’s something we all celebrate, occasioning ever more sumptuous parties to mark ten years, twenty, forty, sometimes even sixty. Big cakes! Lovely presents! But inside every marriage is a secret world full of its own rewards and resentments, sweetness and anger, heat and cold. Do we know everything about our partners, even after decades? I think not. I think some secrets still hold. In “A Good Marriage”, Darcy Anderson discovers her husband has been keeping an especially terrible secret for years. What happens when, on a perfectly ordinary evening, all the things you believed in and took for granted are turned upside-down? What do you do and who do you call on when you discover that your good marriage has been built on a nightmare foundation of torture and murder?
