Kevin Smith Tweets Red State

First Plot Details Surface: Kevin Smith's Red StateChristploitation. I don't even feel comfortable typing it, but I like it. Kevin Smith weighed in on his upcoming horror flick Red State and, whether or not you're a fan of the outspoken director, it's an entertaining read.

Smith's Twitter account was ripe with the following juicy tidbits:

In the 70's, they made exploitation flicks about devil worship. We flip it on RED STATE - so it's an exploitation flick about angel worship.

The director doesn't anticipate that the film will be all that offensive, while stating that Christploitation is a concept that, sadly, extends far beyond a dopey film genre.... He also planted the seeds for what he promises to be an unforgettable opening kill.

Red State is shooting now. It stars Kyle Garner, Dermot Mulroney, Stephen Root, Michael Parks, Melissa Leo and John Goodman.

Welllll, okay, just this once. He has my permission to finish.

LOL -- If only I was the guy delegating budgets to directors. Of course the studio would probably be bankrupt after I okayed $250 million for Don Coscarelli's next Phantasm movie.

Did anyone else see Cop Out?

This guy has no clue what to do behind a camera. The action sequences has no flow, the pacing and timing of everything was way off and the shots were worthy of a 3 camera sitcom.

So now he wants to do horror? Yeah, right.
