Alien Prequel(s) Casting Begins - Scott and Fox Courting Female Lead

So, maybe Ridley Scott and Fox aren't really that tied up over budget and ratings discussions. Despite whatever problems may or may not be happening behind the scenes, the studio has begun the search to find its Ripley-esque strong female lead!

According to Deadline New York both Wall Street 2 star Carey Mulligan (pictured below left) and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo's Noomi Rapace (pictured below right) are on the list of potential candidates to take over the reins of interstellar chick badass for the upcoming 3D Xenomorph fiesta!

Have a look at both below. What are your thoughts on these potential Alien killers?

I'm voting for a good script and a talented director.

But I guess those things are not as important as a 'face'.

He shot his creative load a long time back.

Just watch his latest, Robin Hood, to understand how generic he has become.

I hope he chooses Noomi too. I can easily see her battling Aliens convincingly.

Noomi is AWESOME! Would love to see her carry one of these things.

My vote for Mulligan, decent actress, and Rapace is a little too much of a bad-ass to be an 'Alien'-esque Ripley type character...

Better yet, cast both and have them be foils of each other
