Two New Ugly Americans Clips - One Year of Ugly Americans and Abscess Hollywood

Season Two of Comedy Central's "Ugly Americans" premieres tonight (October 6th), and the powers-that-be have provided us with two more clips to get viewers fired up, one entitled "One Year of Ugly Americans", in which social worker Mark Lilly sums up his first year in New York, and the other "Abscess Hollywood", in which TV show Abscess Hollywood reports on Jessica Alba and Abraham Lincoln's relationship and Randall tries to come up with a nickname for the couple.

The series follows Mark (voiced by Matt Oberg), an employee of the “Department of Integration,” as he helps new citizens, both human and "other," adapt to the hectic life in New York City. There are easier tasks than weaning vampires off blood, socializing land-whales and housebreaking werewolves, but Mark is up to the challenge. Between his stressful job, a zombie roommate and a demon girlfriend, Mark’s lucky if he can sneak in a few minutes of sleep.

In addition to Mark Lilly, the "Ugly Americans" cast features Randall Skeffington, Mark's zombie roommate (voiced by Kurt Metzger), Callie Maggotbone, Mark's demon boss and office fling (voiced by Natasha Leggero), Leonard Powers, an aging drunken wizard (voiced by Randy Pearlstein), Twayne, a terrorizing demonic bureaucrat (voiced by Michael-Leon Wooley) and Lt. Grimes (voiced by Larry Murphy), a law-enforcement officer who despises non-humans. Additional characters are voiced by Devin Clark, Mike O'Gorman, Maria Bamford, Pete Holmes and Julie Klausner.

In the new episodes Mark has to deal with a clingy new roommate after Randall leaves to join a zombie cult, and Twayne has to face the repercussions of making a terrible deal for a politician’s soul. Then Mark tries to help Leonard with his wand issues with disastrous results, and Mark and Randall go down to hell to spend Halloween with Callie’s family, who has some special plans for Mark.

Another New Ugly Americans Clip - One Year of Ugly Americans

Online, the "Ugly Americans" website features episode previews and highlights, an interactive map of Manhattan with video clips from the series, a Twitter module featuring tweets from the show’s cast, characters and creators, and a downloadable Department of Integration handbook with important information for surviving life in the Big Apple. Additionally, fans of the series can play an "Ugly Americans" Web game. Users control Mark and interact with various characters from the series as he helps them to do the right (or wrong) thing with hilarious results. There will also be a Facebook Personality Quiz, "Which Ugly Americans Character Are You?", where fans can take a short survey to find out if they are Mark, Randall, Callie or one of the show's other characters and then share the results with their friends.

In addition, each week new “Ugly Americans” episodes will be available for download to own in HD on iTunes, Xbox and Playstation and SD on Amazon.

I watched the first (very short) season of this series.

It's alright but never comes close to the wit and entertainment value of South Park, The Venture Bros. or Drawn Together.
