The Last Exorcism Possesses the #1 Spot at the Box Office

The only thing that can soften the horrendous news that Vampires Suck made more money for the second week in a row than Piranha 3D (thanks for bringing us one step closer to Idiocracy, brain dead America) is Lionsgate's terror tale The Last Exorcism nabbing the top honors at the box office this weekend. I guess the devil made us do it!

According to Box Office Mojo the flick opened with a very healthy estimated $21.3 million. At least theatre-goers get it right sometimes.

The Daniel Stamm directed film, which was produced by Eli Roth, is in theatres now. Check out the official The Last Exorcism Facebook page for more; then dig on the official The Last Exorcism website here.

New reports indicate "Takers" pulled in more money than "The Last Exorcism," so horror fans can cease celebration. Either way both PG-13 pieces of crapola fought and one came out the victor.

It's the end of the summer so it's slim pickings at the box office. It's either this or the PG-13 crime flick with Anakin Skywalker and that wife Beater Chris Brown. Which was second. Not surprising this hit at one.
