Eli Roth Ready to Give Thanks for Thanksgiving Script

Eli Roth Ready to Give Thanks for Thanksgiving ScriptEli Roth is one of the genre's busiest men so it's really nice to know that he hasn't forgotten about one little project that's been cooking for a while now - a feature length version of the faux trailer he made for Grindhouse called Thanksgiving.

In a recent interview with Cinemablend Roth offered the following update:

I’ve been working on the script with my co-writer, Jeff Rendell, who plays the pilgrim in the trailer," Roth tells the site. "And it’s me imitating Jeff’s voice [for the narration]. But Jeff has been working. I said that his deal is he has to work on the script while I’m promoting The Last Exorcism, and as soon as I’m done in mid-September, he’s going to fly to California, we’re going to sit down, and bang out the script."

Keep it here for more as it comes, and dig on the trailer below!

I don't think it will be a good movie. The trailer was fantastic, for sure. But a feature length version will not do well beyond the few movie geeks who saw Grindhouse.

The only way this will translate into a great feature length film is if it is done on the cheap and released direct to video. I think this is a case were to much money will lead to a watered down movie and a HUGE risk for any studio backing it. If Roth can pull this off for around 10 million and send it 'unrated' to DVD, XBox, ect. I think it has a real chance of being something fun.
