What Do Snakes on a Plane and Predators Have In Common?
No, it’s not Samuel L. Jackson. It’s an awesome marketing ploy to go along with the movie! With Snakes on a Plane many of you may remember the option where you could have Samuel L. himself call your friends with a recording inviting them to see the movie. This one is a bit more interactive ... and a bit more destructive as well!
From the Press Release:
"THE HUNT IS ON ... AND THE WEB IS THE PREY!
Ticked-off at some of your buddies on Facebook? Instead of “unfriending” them, why not take them out Predator-style with a shoulder cannon blast? Has your once-cutting edge site become yesterday’s news? Then put an end to its misery with a few moves of the Predator Wrist Blade.
It’s time to channel your inner-Predator, access and deploy the alien hunters’ arsenal, and track and destroy the websites – and their occupants – of your choice. The hunt is on at PredatorsMovie.com, where you can take control of the Predators Weapons Overlay and get down to business with the alien beings’ Shoulder Cannon, Wrist Blade, Net Gun, and Spear.
Trap, blast, and slash – like the Predators do, beginning today, when the app goes live at PredatorsMovie.com."
Predators will be released on July 9th, produced by Robert Rodriguez and directed by Nimrod Antal at Rodriguez’s Austin-based Troublemaker Studios.
Predators, a bold new chapter in the Predator universe, shot under the creative auspices of Robert Rodriguez, stars Adrien Brody as a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they've been brought together on an alien planet... as prey. With the notable exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers - mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members - human "predators" that are now being systematically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.
