Even with Albert Pujols and a slew of Red Sox coming to town this year, Los Angeles won’t be seeing the World Series, but judging by the film lineup for the 12th Annual Shriekfest, LA is getting something even better.

Every horror fan is sure to find something to their liking at Shriekfest, which is going on right now. Read on for the details, and for more visit the official Shriekfest website, “like” Shriekfest on Facebook and follow Shriekfest on Twitter (@Shriekfest).

From the Press Release
Festival goers will once again enjoy the finest in independent cinema from around the globe, selected from submissions that came in everywhere from London to New York, from Utah to Denmark. From our opening night screening of The Employer, featuring Malcolm McDowell and Billy Zane; to the shorts from Australia, Denmark, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, and Mexico; and finally to the Shriekfest premiere of Scooter Downey’s It’s in the Blood, starring Lance Henriksen, the 12th Annual Shriekfest Horror/SciFi Film Festival has worked hard to present a festival as diverse as the fans of the city of Los Angeles itself.

American independent films are also well represented this year: on Friday, October 5th, is Devoured, as well as Mimesis starring Sid Haig and Courtney Gaines and The House with 100 Eyes, both of which are screening on Saturday, October 6th. Also screening are Nailbiter, Revenant, Found in Time, Muirhouse, and Last Kind Words.

Not to leave out our fabulous selection of short films. Movies like The Face, Requiem Por Un (No) Muerto, Survivor Type, Night of the Devil, Dispatch, and the stunning Cryo challenge the viewers with provocative, well-crafted original stories.

Once again Shriekfest Film Festival exceeds at challenging the idea of what a horror film festival should screen, with eclectic selections (Fortune Faded) to science fiction (A Light in the Darkness), comedy (The Dump), and even the bizarre in Andrew Kasch’s Stay at Home Dad.

Entrance to Shriekfest Film Festival 2012 is $10.00 per block; an All-Fest Pass, good for all four days of the festival, is now available on the official Shriekfest website for just $140.00.
