Music Video Director Sends Us to Detention
Another celebrated music video director is making the jump into the feature film arena, and his first jumping off point? Why a low budget horror movie of course!
According to Bloody Disgusting Joseph Kahn (pictured right; Muse "Knights of Cydonia, Britney Spears "Toxic", Eminem "Without Me") will be plying his craft on a little movie called Detention.
"The film follows a 17-year-old who is given detention on the night of her prom. Over the course of the night her friends are murdered by a fictional horror movie icon. It's said to be in the vein of Scream with elements of Back to the Future (time travel is involved) and classic John Hughes teen films from the 80's."
Look for more on this one soon.

I only need two words to be interested in a project: time travel. So I'll be checking this one out no matter what.

hhhhmmmm not like the Scream part of the premise but loving the back to the future/john hughes films/80's teens aspect of it, wonder how this one is going to turn up

When you are making a teen or teen oriented movie and compare it to John Hughes movies, you are almost always setting yourself up to fail. (In my opinion at least.)

One thumb down. I'd give it two thumbs down but I currently have the other thumb up my ass.

Sounds pretty lame, especially since it seems to be relying on the "Scream" reference to hook people in.

Wow, this just sounds awful. Did the idea come from Enimem because it's as asinine as his lyrics.
