Director Joe Carnahan Talks Preacher
There's been talk about a live action adaptation of the Garth Ennis graphic novel known as Preacher with several big name directors attached to the project at one time or another. Each left for a variety of reasons but now one guy in particular seems to really be interested in taking the Heaven hunting gang for a spin.
In an interview with MTV A-Team director Joe Carnahan dropped the following on fans --
"I'm kind of desperate to do another comic book adaptation," he tells the network. "And the other thing I'm really keen on or interested in is 'Preacher' because I'm a big Garth Ennis fan and I love that series and that's out there, and that might be something ... I really love that."
Please ... someone get this one off of the ground already! And yeah, give it to someone that really cares about the source material. That's a great friggin' idea, no? We'll be waiting, thanks.

Garth Ennis is hugely talented. I think he should get to handle his own screenplay.
I'll add my vote to pick a more inspired/risky director. Verhoeven would get my vote.

Yeah, that's a good idea.
Another good idea? Don't get the guy who made Smokin Aces to do it...
I'm starting to think that Narc was a HUGE fluke.

Yeah, keep this guy far away from "Preacher", please. He's terrible.
