It’s been the better part of a year since last there was anything to report concerning the next Cabin Fever flick, Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, but with the passage of time comes good things like start dates and such!

According to THR, Lydia Hearst, the model-turned-actress daughter of Patty Hearst, has joined the cast of Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, the reboot of the horror movie from Indomina.

Sean Astin and Brano Eaton are starring in the flick, which also features Gillian Murray and Ryan Donowho as part of the cast. Mitch Ryan, meanwhile, has stepped into the shoes vacated by Ben Hollingsworth, whose schedule was crunched when he booked a role on The CW’s midseason show “Cult”.

The story kicks off when a bachelor party cruise in the Caribbean unexpectedly runs ashore on a medical research island and a deadly virus is unleashed. The passengers must struggle to find a way to survive before their own demons and the flesh-eating bacteria consume them all.

Lydia will play a wide-eyed research grad student who is aligned with the film’s antagonist (Astin).

Comic book artist Kaare Andrews is directing from a screenplay penned by Jake Wade Wall (The Hitcher). Original Cabin Fever producer Evan Astrowsky and his Hypotenuse Pictures are producing Patient Zero with Indomina.

Shooting is due to begin mid-October in the Dominican Republic.

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

  • JB Demented

And I thought this was supposed to be a prequal not a reboot.

  • JB Demented

Couldnt be any worse than that lame ass sequal. Plus Im a Mitch Ryan fan. Im going to have to watch.

  • Terminal

We can’t get a sequel for “Leslie Vernon” yet Eli Roth’s rat droppings continue sporting follow-ups. How fair.

    • MonsterMash

It’s a damn shame nobody will pick it up but the fans and that we may never see it. I was really looking forward to it.
