Inception Media Group announced at the Toronto Film Festival that they pre-bought the North American rights for a pair of Irish horror films not set to begin production until the end of the year.

This is the first time they’ve ever done such a thing, and who can blame them when one is about volcanic ash cloud zombies overrunning Belfast and the other is titled Vampires vs. Leprechauns?

Variety brought us word that two films set to begin production in Northern Ireland before the end of the year already have a home on screens here in North America. Both films are produced by Causeway Pictures and are written by Spence Wright (Red Mist).

DEADlocked takes place in a fictional Belfast office block during a violent virus breakout caused by an ash cloud. When volcanic ash turns the residents of Belfast into frenzied zombie-like psychopaths, a group of bankers find themselves trapped in their corporate ivory tower as the epidemic rages.

The Tohill Brothers will direct.

Vampires vs. Leprechauns is a horror comedy set in the small Irish village of Comhla Breac, which over the space of one night is besieged by a group of vampires seeking to open a gateway to hell.

Allen Gildea will direct.

The synopsis I found for the film on IMDB hints more at the appearance of the second half of this “vs.” title.

A secret lies hidden beneath the sleepy village Comhla Breac. Locals find themselves besieged by creatures of the night intent on releasing the evil that lurks in the deep. But do they have to stand alone?

Somewhere Warwick Davis waits by a phone with bated breath.
