A New Silent Hill on the Way From Konami

Earlier in the month video game journalists gathered together in San Francisco for Konami's annual Gamers Night, an event where Konami reveals new line-ups, hands-on gameplay, and sometimes teaser trailers that make you cry “MOAR”.

This night was no different; attending press were rewarded with a teaser:

…A fog-enshrouded street. A man wanders, lost and unnerved by crows and a menacing growl - CAPTION: "THE SILENCE ENDS"

It’s back: Silent Hill ... and that’s about ALL Konami is saying about it. Is it a new game, a continuation of the last game? C’moooooon, Konami, give up the goods!

Also surrounded in curiosity/controversy is whether Silent Hill’s series' sound producer/composer Akira Yamaoka is working on the next SH game or not, as he is currently working on Grasshopper’s new survival horror title for EA.

The fun will be in the guessing, but here’s hoping there’s a massive ‘oh face’ inducing full-blown trailer at this year’s E3!

Fingers crossed! In the interim check out the trailer for the game that started it all below!

The Movie is pretty sweet though there should have been more ambiguity about the monsters. Downfall is better.

The movie looked absolutely beautiful. That's about it.

Exactly. I booted it out of my DVD player and booted it in to the trash when I was done.

I can't wait for you to die so I can say that I don't care that you died.

Go for "It happens." For some reason it really pisses people off.

Meh. The series hasn't been good since 2. Not helped at all by that God awful movie.

I really enjoyed the movie. It's a shame the sequel never got off the ground.

I hope it isn't as action-oriented as part 5.

That was because all of the 'tards demanded it be that way because they liked RESIDENT EVIL 4 so much.

I always kind of liked the fact that the combat system in SH games was totally broken. It added tension to every single enemy encounter you had.

And that trailer brings back memories. I remember playing it through to get all of the endings, including the UFO ending.
