If you want to purchase The Collector, you’ll have to wait until April 6th. If you want to rent The Collector from Netflix, Redbox, Movie Gallery, or any other video chain or local mom and pop rental store, you’ll also have to wait until April 6th. Or you can go to Blockbuster right now and rent it.
Blockbuster has been getting certain movies before everyone else as part of an exclusivity deal they have in place. For example, there’s a cool low budget action flick called Ninja that doesn’t officially come out on DVD until next week. >Ninja has been available at Blockbuster since the beginning of the year. The Ron Perlman horror flick I Sell the Dead is another film already on the shelf at Blockbuster even though it won’t be widely available until March 30th. The Collector may be the biggest name title to get this exclusive early release via Blockbuster, at least the first I know of that received a major theatrical release.
So if you can’t wait until April to see some torture porn that features a madman in a wrestling mask, fish hooks to the eyes, cats melted in acid, Madeline Zima’s naked breasts, and falling chandeliers made of steak knives, make it a Blockbuster night!
