New A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 One-Sheet
And the hype train has officially left the station for Platinum Dunes' redux of A Nightmare on Elm Street! Just hours after sites were allowed to put up their set visits and several new stills were released, comes the new one-sheet, which, we have to admit, we really dig!
The Samuel Bayer directed remake stars Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz, Clancy Brown, and Connie Britton and focuses on a serial child molester murdered by angry parents, who returns with a burnt face and a razor glove to terrorize teens in their dreams.
Check out the latest one-sheet below courtesy of MySpace. Click on the image to see it super sized. Look for A Nightmare on Elm Street in theatres on April 30th, 2010.

NEXT STORY
For many genre fans, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter was the ultimate sequel of the entire series. The Final Chapter was chock-full of great deaths and brought together a stellar ensemble cast including the now notable Crispin Glover and Corey Feldman and re-energized the franchise with a trip inside the mind of our favorite machete-wielding madman.

Are we sure he's actually smiling? It might be, but I think it could also be just the scarring on his face. It doesn't excuse the rest of the lame-ass poster or another unnecessary remake, but my first impression on seeing the new poster was that the "smile" was simply the burns.
I do plan to vote with my wallet and stay the hell home.

I wish it was a company other than Platinum Dunes behind this one. Ah well, at least they haven't gotten their greasy hands on Phantasm... yet.
P.S. For some reason Nightmare and Friday film remakes (sequels) don't offend me. Hell, I loved Freddy Vs. Jason. A guilty pleasure.

Hopefully all of you naysayers will vote with your dollars and not see this piece of shit.
I absolutely plan to avoid this one in theaters. So tired to seeing classics remade for no reason. I don't loathe all remakes, but this one isn't needed and I'm not supporting it.

Unfortunately we have to go, but I'm not looking at it as an Elm Street film; instead it's a chance to see what Cassidy, Brown, and Britton have been up to lately. Love all three of them.

Clancy is always good, but not enough to get me to the theater.
This is the first "big" remake that I honestly have zero desire to see. I'll stay home with the original on Blu-ray.
And as much as like Jackie Earle Haley, he'll never be Freddy.

So Haley says he's playing the role with a straight face and we get neo Freddy grinning like the joker? Wow.

I personally kind of liked the Friday the 13th Remake posters, but WOW is this awful. What's with that goofy smile on his face? Why the fuck would he be holding his hands together? Who the hell designed this poster!!?? Just when I thought Platinum Dunes couldn't top themselves in sheer shittiness they've gone and done it. WOW.

"Welcome to Crystal Lake."
"Welcome to Your New Nightmare."
The marketing people sure aren't straying too far from their formula, are they?
What a bland, uninspired piece of shit. The artwork for the original series was so interesting and different ... this?
Blah.
