Axelle Carolyn Updates Us on the Ghost of Slaughterford
A few days ago we brought you the news that Neil Marshall would be producing a new film called Ghost of Slaughterford (story here) for director Ian D. Fleming. Good news for sure, but we wanted more! So who better to get it from than the film's writer and star Axelle Carolyn?
"The initial idea for the Ghost of Slaughterford came from a trip through the English countryside last summer, when as we got lost on the road and saw a sign for a village called Slaughterford," says Carolyn. "The name was so extraordinary and the place so quaint that it immediately made me want to write something spooky, dark, and filled with that sort of Gothic Britishness that Hammer films and old ghost stories used to have. (The village described in the script ended up being very different from the real place though.) I started writing with the intention to play the lead, and after the third draft Neil read it, liked it, and offered to executive produce. With his help and advice the script has evolved pretty nicely, and we're hoping to shoot in the first half of this year."
Exciting! Ghost of Slaughterford is expected to roll before the cameras in June. Keep it here for more.
