Triangle Splashes Onto UK DVD and Blu-ray This March

Having made a few waves among genre fans in the US with its recent (albeit horribly bare-bones) DVD/Blu-ray release (read Creepy's review of that here), Christopher Smith’s mind-bending Triangle is set to land on the two formats in the UK on Monday 1st March...along with MUCHO special feature goodness.

Synopsis:
When Jess (Melissa George) and her friend Greg (Michael Dorman) set sail with a group of friends, she cannot shake the feeling something is wrong. When the yacht hits the eye of the storm, the group is forced to board a mysterious passing ocean liner - a deserted ship that Jess is convinced she's been on before. Although it appears to be deserted, they soon discover that are not alone. Someone is intent on hunting them down, one by one, and Jess unknowingly holds the key to end the penultimate terror.

The release comes courtesy of Icon Home Entertainment in what looks to be a top class package. Both the DVD and Blu-ray will sport a nifty 3D Lenticular sleeve along with the following special features:

  • The Making of Triangle featurette
  • Audio commentary with director Christopher Smith
  • Three storyboards (The Storm, Jess Walking Through the Mirror, The Car Crash)
  • Deleted scenes
  • Competition winner's poster design
  • The Storm Special Effects featurette
  • Looks to me like some US fans are gonna be cashing out for the import! Pre-order yours below!

Damn, I already snagged the local blu ray. I want the commentary too.

Smith is obviously a very focused director and I think he's eventually going to 'knock one out of the park'. As it stands I've very much enjoyed all three of his efforts and they all (oddly) play better the 2nd time around.

I was going to start a thread on Triangle and the latest theory of time travel. hah. I'd like to hear that commentary too.

Hey WIB if he mentions any clues to the direction of the plot and what it all means, please fill me in. I'd love to have some answers.

I may be double dipping for that commentary. Would love to hear Smith discuss a couple of scenes, although almost always when I most want to hear a director break down something, he or she is off on a tangent of some sort that has nothing to do with anything onscreen.

I'm actually really interested in the commentary. We all know I'm not a big fan of how the story plays out, so I'm looking forward to hearing what Smith has to say. Maybe it'll help me appreciate it a little more.

Unless, of course, as you mention it goes the way of the tangent and misses out on some of the most important scenes!
