HBO to Become Mind Hunters

HBO to Become Mind Hunters With Showtime’s Dexter reaping the sort of ratings that HBO used to enjoy back in The Sopranos days, it’s no surprise that they’re looking to get into the serial killer genre with their own series – albeit with a different slant.

Variety is reporting that actress/producer Charlize Theron and director David Fincher are teaming for Mind Hunter about the investigation of serial killers.

Fox 21 has optioned the book "Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit" by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker. The book recounts Douglas' experiences as a top FBI investigator of serial killers and rapists and the profiling techniques he developed. Scott Buck, an exec producer on Showtime's "Dexter," has been tapped to pen the pilot. Theron, Fincher, Erwin, and Buck will exec produce.
