New Making-of Solomon Kane Featurette





As its February 19th UK theatrical release date approaches, a new making-of video from Solomon Kane arrived today featuring insights about the film from screenwriter/director Michael Bassett; stars Pete Postlethwaite, James Purefoy, and Rachel Hurd-Wood; and the producers.

Synopsis
The first part in a trilogy series, Solomon Kane is an epic adventure adapted from the classic pulp stories by Robert E. Howard, creator of "Conan the Barbarian." Solomon Kane (James Purefoy) is a 16th Century soldier who learns that his brutal and cruel actions have damned him. Determined to redeem himself, Kane swears to live a life of peace and goodness but is forced to fight once more when a dark power threatens the land.

As an adaptation of Howard's original creation this movie appears to be a miserable failure on every level.

But then again, so was Milius's CONAN THE BARBARIAN. And that movie is an absolute masterpiece.
