Dead Rising: The Movie? Watch the Trailer Now!

Ok, so follow along -- First Capcom makes a zombie game loosely based upon George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead called Dead Rising, and now there's a movie, based on the game, that was loosely based upon the movie to begin with. See that? Nice and clear, isn't it?
Of course there have been a few changes. Gone is wrong time/wrong place roving reporter Frank, and in his place is a handful of survivors who look to be ready to cause as much mayhem as our beloved digital protagonist.
According to Kotaku, Dead Rising "is set in an alternative reality in which areas affected by outbreaks are strictly quarantined, and those living in the area are cordoned off from the rest of the country. Two brothers, George and Shin, hatch a plan to escape. Starring actors Hiroki Yoshida, Hiroshi Yazaki, and Shibyou Osen, DEAD RISING is a live-action movie co-written and directed by Dead Rising designer and Mega-Man creator Keiji Inafune."
Even more interesting, the film is supposed to debut later this year via download on Xbox Live and the official Dead Rising: The Movie site. Check out the trailer below.

Looks like a hastily thrown together movie made solely to promote the new video game. Pass.
