AMC Officially Greenlights The Walking Dead
In early August we announced that AMC was very close to finalizing the deal to bring a live action version of Robert Kirkman's legendary zombie tale The Walking Dead to their network with director Frank Darabont at the helm. Good news, dead heads! The deal is DONE!
According to The Hollywood Reporter AMC has officially made the pick-up. The Walking Dead is based on Robert Kirkman's popular comic book. It chronicles the months and years following a zombie apocalypse. Frank Darabont is the project's writer, director, and exec producer with Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert also exec producing.

We just finished reading the latest book, and I can't, for the life of me, see how they could possibly stay true to the books and have this anywhere but on HBO. And it would be hard care for that even! Still, with Frank involved I'll definitely give it a shot.

This comic is amazing. I read issues 1-68 in one day it was so good.
I can't wait to see this.
I agree that HBO or Showtime would be better based on the subject material, but none the less I trust Frank.

Same here. I don't see a baby being blown to bits or two naked teenagers following through on a suicide pact. And I'd rather Showtime be left out of it as their treatment of Masters of Horror was sucky.
