F/X Remake Update
The 1986 thriller F/X was one of my absolute favorite films of the Eighties. Anyone who has seen it and remembers it can pretty much vouch that it was the goods. There's been talk of a remake happening for some time now, and now there's a little bit of new chatter to report on.
According to one of our brothers in harm, Clint at MovieHole, a studio insider insists that despite their financial woes MGM is still very much looking to remake the film. Apparently it's been the script that has the cause of all the hold-ups. MGM would like to release the redux theatrically, but hasn't been thrilled with any of the scripts which have been handed in by several different writers.
At the very least it's good to know the flick, which tells the tale of a movie special effects man named Rollie Tyler who's hired to fake a real-life mob killing for a witness protection plan, but ultimately finds his own life in danger, is still on their radar. I wouldn't expect to hear anymore about this until the studio is bought up from the auctioning block.
