Supernatural Season 8 Casting Update and Early Info on a New Recurring Character

A few days ago we learned that in Season 8 of “Supernatural”, Sam Winchester is getting a new girl friend, and now we know who will be playing her as well as having the first word on a new recurring character we’ll be meeting in Episode 8.03.

First off, TVLine reports that Liane Balaban (pictured) has been cast on The CW series in the recurring role of Amelia, described as “a tragedy-damaged soul” who “soon reveals herself to be a brave, sweet, smart, sarcastic woman.” Balaban recently appeared in two episodes of “Alphas” as Anna (the Red Flag member who formed a bond with Gary) and next will be seen in Franck Khalfoun’s Maniac remake.

As for the new character, per Spoiler TV he’s called Benny, and he masks a deep savagery. The episode in which he first appears, the second of the season, will be called “We Need to Talk About Kevin”.
