The Brood Remake Gets a Director

Quick! Of all the directors best equipped to take the reins on a remake of David Cronenberg’s The Brood, which one comes to your mind? If you said anyone other than the director of Sahara, you’re dead wrong.
Yes, folks, Breck Eisner is set to serve as director on this updated version of The Brood, according to the Los Angeles Times. Eisner has signed on to a film that's kind of new but kind of familiar (and scary): "The Brood." That's the David Cronenberg horror flick about a woman who telepathically communicates with her group of mutant children, instructing them to act out violently. Eisner's on board to direct the new version, which is written by Cory Goodman for financier Spyglass Entertainment.
I’m sure it will be slick, but the real question here is how are they going to make it better? Maybe we’ll have a clearer idea of what to expect when Eisner’s remake of George Romero’s The Crazies rolls out in 2010, but I'm looking at this one with skeptical eyes.

After seeing his Fear Itself episode 'The Sacrifice' and looking at the stuff for 'The Crazies', Einser might do pretty well. Could he attain the uncomfortable weirdness of Cronenberg...probably not but still could make a good film.

According to his imdb, this director was also attached to the remake of Creature from the Black Laggoon and Flash Gordon.
If he keeps flip flopping projects, maybe he won't dare touch The Brood remake.
No one can do a Cronenberg movie "better" then Cronenberg himself.
