Big Damn Films, Inc., of Baltimore is announcing a new zombie feature film project that is centered around cosplay and conventions…sounds like a hoot. And the coolest part of this project, entitled, Z*Con, is all the net proceeds go to charity. Righteous.
Michael C. Dougherty, writer and director of Z*Con, announced that just like his last film, Browncoats: Redemption, one hundred percent of the net proceeds of Z*Con will go to charity. The charities are Kids Need to Read, the Red Cross, and one charity being picked by the community at the official Z*Con website. The charities receive mentions/promotion for the life of the film and an equal portion of the net proceeds.
The film is scheduled for a late 2013 release. For more info “like” Z*Con on Facebook and follow Z*Con on Twitter (@zconmovie).
Synopsis
Z*Con is about 14-year-old Matt Moore and his three friends, who attend a local comic convention to get interviews for their podcast but end up stuck in the middle of a zombie outbreak at the con. One convention, four teens, thousands of zombies…what could go wrong?
