Twisted Pictures Wants You to Feel Sorrow
Another comic-to-film adaptation is in the pipeline, this one from Twisted Pictures, the company most known for its Saw films. It's called Sorrow and is the brainchild of Rick Remender, Seth Peck, and Francesco Francavilla published by Image Comics.
You may recall that Twisted Pictures was in the news recently due to its efforts to acquire the rights to Texas Chainsaw Massacre and then prepare another remake ... in 3D. Nothing firm has been announced on that front yet, but Twisted is hardly sitting around twiddling its thumbs. According to Shock Till You Drop Twisted's Mark Burg and Oren Koules will produce Sorrow along with Erick Salomon, Chris Ridenhour, and Andrew Wilson. Michael Hidalgo is writing the script and had this to say about the project: ""Rick, Seth, and Francesco have created a throwback to '70s and '80s horror/thriller films with the perfect mix of terror and memorable characters. The idea is to make a great film that resonates with fans of the genre."
Here's a synopsis from Amazon:
In 1952, the U.S. Government's nuclear testing killed all of the good people of Sorrow, Nevada. Today, the sign in front of the town reads "population zero". The locals, however, will tell you a very different story... When a car accident strands four young travelers in this desolate ghost town, they soon find that not all that is buried is dead. Mingling the psychological terror of The Exorcist with the eerie dread of David Lynch's Twin Peaks, Sorrow inspires fear in the most hardened of horror fans.
