Scott Talks Alien Prequel

Scott Talks Alien PrequelIt's really happening. Ridley Scott is making another Alien movie. Today we've learned a little bit more about the project, which is all kinds of intriguing.

Empire got the opportunity to sit down with Ridley and discuss one of the genre's most anticipated projects. Here's what he had to say:

“It’s a brand new box of tricks,” said Sir Ridley. “We know what the road map is, and the screenplay is now being put on paper. The prequel will be a while ago. It’s very difficult to put a year on Alien, but [for example] if Alien was towards the end of this century, then the prequel story will take place thirty years prior.”

This is just the beginning of this one ... I'm sure we'll be bringing you LOTS and LOTS more info.

"It’s very difficult to put a year on Alien"

1778.

Wasn't so hard.

I think the biggest knock someone could make against Ridley is that he doesn't write his own screenplays. Other than that I think pretty much everything the man has ever done is pretty brilliant.

I hope this helps put the bugs back on track, as are the hopes with PREDATORS (no thanks to the attempts to kill both by that hack Paul W.S. "Franchise-killer" Anderson). But being attached to The A-Team forces me to reserve judgment until I see what he comes up with.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ridley. But he used to say he'd never do a sequel and then he caved for that POS HANNIBAL. Yetch!

I'm still amazed by this.
