First Word on You Are Next
In the slasher subgenre lots of things have been tackled, including every major holiday and rite of passage. Halloween, Prom Night, Mother's Day, you name it. Yet, according to Declan O'Brien, the one night of the year that hasn't been tapped is Homecoming, and that's exactly what he plans on tackling with his latest feature, You Are Next.
"Basically, I was thinking about the genre and all that," O'Brien tells Dread Central, "and there's been Valentine's Day and Halloween, but nobody has done Homecoming. You gotta take advantage of that one day of the year no one else has."
Has there really never been a slasher movie about Homecoming? Could that be? For the life of me I can't think of one off the top of my head, but that seems impossible!
