Texas Frightmare Weekend Haunts Dallas May 4-6, 2012

The time has come, ghouls and girls, for the best con in the great state of Texas. The Texas Frightmare Weekend is now upon us! Starting tomorrow evening, May 4th, the festivities begin at the Hyatt Regency DFW at the DFW Airport.

With this new location, the con hasn’t just expanded – it’s EXPLODED! The guest list is massive, including the featured They Live reunion with Roddy Piper, Keith David, and Meg Foster… the first time they’ll be together since the film according to Piper. Piper Laurie of Carrie and “Twin Peaks” fame is doing her FIRST con appearance as part of a Carrie reunion. A big chunk of the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre cast will be on hand. There will be a Tombstone reunion. Several folks from “The Walking Dead” including Michael F’ing Rooker and Norman Reedus will be there all weekend.

Beyond that you have dozens of genre luminaries, a massive vendor room, around 20 film screenings (including some premieres), a Carrie-themed prom, a Frightmare Lounge with guest entertainers, and a whole lot more.

It doesn’t get better than this. Yours truly will be on hand Saturday and Sunday covering the con and just generally hanging out and having a blast. Look for the big man with the camo cane to find me and say hello; we Dread Central types ALWAYS love to meet readers!

Will we get a repeat of the level of madness from last year with Dieter Laser re-enacting the most infamous scene from The Human Centipede with gore master Yoshihiro Nishimura and friends as the victims by the hotel pool? Only time (and a LOT of alcohol) will tell.

If you’re anywhere near DFW, get your horror-loving asses out to the airport and christen the new location with blood, madness, and booze!
