Paramount Confirms Paranormal Activity Theatrical Release Date?
The excitement is building around Oren Peli's Paranormal Activity, and as a result there seems to be a new news story about it almost every couple of days. The latest one comes from the official Paramount website on a page which is no longer active (weird). On it, it stated the film would be beginning a limited theatrical run on September 25th. True or false? Well, yes and no.
The only thing confirmed thus far is that on September 25th at midnight Paranormal Activity will have its first official public showing at Fantastic Fest 2009 in Texas, and you can get your tickets for that here.
What about after that? Stay tuned for official news soon, maybe even as early as tomorrow.
Paranormal Activity (review here) tells the tale of what happens when a young, middle class couple move into what seems like a typical suburban “starter” tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be somehow demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep. Or try to.

As we reported previously, Jay Woelfel's Live Evil will have a 300-screen theatrical release starting September 18th, as well as being available on DVD and OnDemand November 3rd. To honor the occasion, the film also has a spiffy new teaser poster.
