Fernando Barreda Luna Taps Sean Wathen to Write New Film - The DraggerFernando Barreda Luna, director of the 2010 film Atrocious, has announced a collaboration with writer Sean Wathen for his first English language horror flick, The Dragger.

Luna announced that Wathen will write the film and the ball is already rolling. “We are developing our next horror project called The Dragger,” Luna said. “The film began pre-production in January. This will be my first English language film, and it’s being produced by my wife, Jessica Villegas. For now all I can say is that we’re shooting in the U.S. and that it will scare the hell out of you!”

You’ve gotta like the sound of that! Especially when it’s coming from a guy who directed a film entitled Atrocious! Gotta figure he knows his horror! More info on this as it becomes available.

From the Press Release
Up and coming screenwriter Sean Wathen first made the trades a few years back for co-writing the spec script The Field, which was optioned to GG Filmz (Machine Gun Preacher). More recently Wathen sold two scripts to producer Klaus von Sayn-Wittgenstein (Bear and Wolf Town). The screenplays were Psychology of Murder and The Lazarus Incident, which are both scheduled to begin production this year.

Since the beginning of 2012, Wathen has been working with Atrocious director Fernando Barreda Luna and Nabu Films to write Fernando’s first English language film, The Dragger. The logline is being kept under wraps at the moment, but it’s said to be a blend of traditional and found footage horror.
