Paul Bettany Talks Priest
Now that Paul Bettany is making the rounds to promote his upcoming dark action flick Legion, he’s finally ready to set his sights on his next film, Priest. Priest reunites the actor with director Scott Stewart, who also helmed Legion. He was on hand at Comic-Con to discuss his latest jump into the action film genre.
“Priest is partially based on the graphic novel,” said Bettany. “Their world in the comic and our world are quite different. The film is set in alternate reality and I play a vampire-slaying priest, which is really exciting for me.”
“The film has got a very Western and chic look to it. As an actor, it’s nice to go from doing an action film like Legion to doing the drama Darwin and then to come back and make an action movie where I get to slay vampires,” Bettany added.
So what kind of vamps can horror fans expect in Priest? Bettany gave Dread Central a tiny taste of what we’ll see when Priest is released in 2010:
“Our vampires are gruesome, and let’s just say that stakes don’t do the trick.”
