New Pre-Order Details for Resident Evil 6 Ready to Take a Bite Out of Your Wallet

Earlier this week, Capcom released an amazing new trailer and tons of juicy details for their upcoming game Resident Evil 6, which will release on October 2, 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Among the interesting details that emerged from that day was the announcement that Mercenaries mode would make its way back in the new game.

Mercenaries mode places you against nearly endless waves of enemies in an enclosed area. You will attempt to chain together kills on the enemies, pick up powerups, upgrades, bonus time, weapons and complete other tasks that will award you the most points possible during a session.

Well, preorders at Gamestop, Amazon and Bestbuy will land you with one of three exclusive Mercenaries maps for the upcoming game. Gamestop preorders will receive The Catacombs–a long forgotten structure that house booby traps around every corner. Preordering with Amazon will land you with High Seas Fortress–a massive stage that will have you battling on the ship’s huge deck as well as its narrow inner chambers and hallways. Finally, Bestbuy preorders will come with Rail Yard–a multilevel structure that will see you battling throughout the stage’s many different floors including trains, the rail yard and the rooftop of the primary building.

It has been over ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world’s population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.
