CHICAGO FEAR FEST is Chicago’s largest indie horror film festival with two days of multi-theater film screenings. To be held at the Muvico Theaters Rosemont 18 in Rosemont, IL, Chicago’s Premiere movie-going experience, the lineup will include short films, feature films, celebrity guests, panel discussions and Q & A’s. Festival after-parties presented by FEARnet will be held at Bogart’s, a full service bar and grill located on the second floor of the Muvico Theaters Rosemont 18.Gift bags and prizes sponsored by FEARnet.
Film makers and stars of FEARnet’s “HOLLISTON” at CHICAGO FEAR FEST
From writer-director Adam Green, FEARnet’s “HOLLISTON” is the new weekly horror-comedy sitcom on FEARnet, cable television’s premier horror, thriller and suspense channel. “HOLLISTON” premieres Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 10:30 PM (ET) on the FEARnet cable TV network.
Described as “The Big Bang Theory” meets “Evil Dead II”, “HOLLISTON” is set in Holliston, MA and follows the lives of Adam (Adam Green) and Joe (Joe Lynch), two friends chasing the dream of becoming successful horror movie filmmakers while struggling to make ends meet in their post-college jobs at a Boston cable access station where they also host a late night movie program called “The Movie Crypt.”
Filmmakers from FEARnet’s “HOLLISTON” appearing at the Chicago Fear Fest include:
Adam Green – Star-Director-Writer-Executive producer of “HOLLISTON”. Adam Green is the director of the cult hit horror film series “HATCHET” 1 & 2, “FROZEN”, co-director of “SPIRAL”, and director of the “CHILERAMA” segment “THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANKENSTEIN”. Adam is writing and producing “HATCHET 3”.
Joe Lynch – Star and Executive Producer of “HOLLISTON”. Joe Lynch directed “WRONG TURN 2”, the “CHILLERAMA” segment “ZOM B MOVIE”, and the upcoming“KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM”. Joe is also directing the upcoming Kate Hudson action-thriller “EVERLY”.
Sarah Elbert – Producer of “HOLLISTON”. Sarah Elbert produced “HATCHET” 1 & 2, and will be producing the upcoming “HATCHET 3”.
FEARnet presents “AN EVENING WITH ‘HOLLISTON’
Join series creator/star Adam Green, co-star Joe Lynch, and series producer Sarah Elbert as they present two episodes of the series (including a brand new, previously unseen episode). Following the screening, the filmmakers will do an in-depth Q&A about the series and give away a limited number of official HOLLISTON posters courtesy of FEARnet that they will personally sign for fans. ”HATCHET 2” returns to the big screen at the CHICAGO FEAR FEST
On October 1, 2010 Adam Green’s HATCHET II made history by becoming the first horror movie in over 3 decades to refuse any imposed cuts by the MPAA and be released in mainstream cinemas across the United States without a rating. Less than 72 short hours later the film made history again by becoming the first genre film in the history of cinema to ever be yanked from all screens before it’s opening weekend was even over. For the first time since that fateful weekend when Victor Crowley was assassinated by the powers that be, Adam Green’s HATCHET II will be shown at the CHICAGO FEAR FEST on the big screen of a major theater chain. Un-cut and Un-rated as it was meant to be.
Join series creator Adam Green (HATCHET 1 & 2, FROZEN, SPIRAL) as he presents the film in person followed by an in-depth Q&A discussion joined by series producer Sarah Elbert (HATCHET 1 & 2) and hosted by filmmaker Joe Lynch (WRONG TURN 2, KNIGHT OF BADASSDOM, EVERLY). The three filmmakers will also be bringing a sneak peek at their new television series, the horror/comedy HOLLISTON which you can catch two special episodes of at Chicago Fear Fest the following night. As always, the three filmmakers will sign autographs for fans (for free) before/after the screening so bring whatever you’ve got for them and come ready to show them how loud Chicago fans can scream, cheer, and laugh as we celebrate the resurrection and continuing future (HATCHET III begins shooting in just 2 short months) of this controversial and now infamous American slasher film. Film screenings to include the uncut “HATCHET 2” and a Q & A by director Adam Green and producer Sarah Elbert and hosted by filmmaker Joe Lynch, the Chicago Premiere of the latest entry in the hit Spanish zombie saga “REC 3” (in 35mm), the Cuban based Zombie epic “JUAN OF THE DEAD”, the confederate-war zombie melee “ABRAHAM LINCOLN VS. ZOMBIES”, and dozens of horror feature and short films from the hottest indie film makers.
