BioShock 2 Delayed. Big Daddys Weep.

Citing the need for more time in the oven, ShackNews reported that Take 2 Games has delayed BioShock 2 from October to the more nebulous “first half of financial year 2010”.

That doesn’t necessarily mean next year though as Take 2’s financial year begins November 1st. Still, that wouldn’t be much of a delay either, so I’d guess we’ll be talking about December if it’s going to make it out this year, and indeed if it doesn’t slip again. A December release was pretty good for the original BioShock back in 2007 as well, but we’ll have to wait to hear more from Take 2.

BioShock 2 looks to build on the impressive original, this time putting you into the diving suit of the oldest Big Daddy in Rapture, which since the ending of the first game has been in even more disarray. Still slated for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, a delay isn’t any reason for concern about what we can expect from the final product, but it’s still a bit of a disappointment and a little frustrating that we haven’t got an actual date yet. Once we do have an actual date, we’ll be sure to pass it on.
