Stock up on green paint and be prepared to shoot your mirrors on the front lawn; a direct-to-DVD sequel to Alex Aja's Mirrors is in the works. Suffice to say with the film being made for DVD that Aja won't be back in the director's chair, nor is it likely that the film will continue forth with Kiefer Sutherland's dyslexic adventures in mirror world.
ShockTillYouDrop got the first word that 20th Century Fox is developing Mirrors 2 as a potential 2010 DVD release. The original cast Sutherland as a nightwatchman dealing with cursed mirrors that can kill you by killing your reflection or by appearing in the water and sucking you to their side or by possessing glass shard-covered old hags and bodypressing you or by... Let's just say the mirrors were absurdly all-powerful, yet shockingly bad with first names. If you don't know what I mean by that last remark, then you either haven't seen Mirrors or listened to the quite riotous Dinner For Fiends in which we had a field day with the loopy film.
And somewhere right now Christian Slater sits anxiously awaiting the producer's phone call. Somewhere else, Robin Dunne also sits anxiously hoping Slater doesn't get that phone call.
