Stephen Dorff Returns as Deacon Frost in Blade Spin-Off
While I really did enjoy Stephen Dorff’s villainous performance in Stephen Norrington’s Blade, I never found myself wishing we’d gotten to know more about him. That might be changing soon, however, as the powers that be are thinking about resurrecting the Deacon Frost character for his own prequel trilogy!
Sunday Mail got the skinny straight from the actor’s mouth: “It will be a prequel to the Blade movies, Deacon's story. It's a new trilogy the director has created. It will cool. We hope to shoot the first film next year. Frost is a character I have never been able to shake."
Let’s just file this in the “I’ll believe it when I see it” drawer for now.

Filmmaker Sean Cain, who’s currently mixing sound for his holiday ghoul opus Silent Night, Zombie Night, sat down with Dread Central yesterday to give us an update on that project, as well as his currently-casting Velvet Hammer Films/ArsonCuff Entertainment feature Breath of Hate, which “centers around a young woman in the escort business, who on her last job is confronted by a trio of escaped mental patients looking to change the world; one victim at a time” (according to the film’s PR).

While the first Blade film, I think, was the only one that was even worth a damn, a spin-off based on its antagonist is just ridiculous. And a trilogy, to boot? Who do they think they're kidding?
Will Wesley Snipes be in it? He probably needs the work.

Remember, they made Underworld 3 based around the Lycans, who were technically the bad guys in the 1st and 2nd movies.

This guy brings down every movie he's in. I have a theory that he brings a curse of either crap or mediocrity with him to every project and I've yet to be proven wrong.

Stephen Dorff becomes Tom Arnold; pathologically obsessed with a sequel/spin-off that will never happen.

This'll go the way of that Blade: Trinity spin-off franchise.

My interest begins and ends as the credits roll after BLADE 2. This idea is either going to not end well or it'll rot in development hell and it will never see the light of day.
