I Sell the Dead Director Talks Sequel Details
I haven’t seen I Sell the Dead yet, and I’m guessing I’m in the same boat as a lot of people. If you check out Andrew's review, however, I bet your curiosity will be piqued. And that’s what writer/director Glenn McQuaid is banking on because, as we've reported previously, he’s already planning a sequel!
McQuaid talked to Screen Daily about his proposed "continuation" and revealed that he hopes to make the second story, The Further Adventures of Grimes & Blake, a comic book first and then eventually turn that into another feature film. He’s spoken to stars Dominic Monaghan and Larry Fessenden about reprising their roles if a second feature film is made. “They’re curious about it,” he says. “They have great chemistry on screen together; I wouldn’t do it without them. It would have to be another team effort.”
Based on his comments and our review, I’d say there’s plenty of room to explore this world, and I can’t wait to check out I Sell the Dead! It opens theatrically (and on VOD) August 14th in the States courtesy of IFC Films. Anchor Bay will handle distribution in the UK, Canada, and Australia although no release dates have been set yet.
