Rumor - Grindhouse: The Complete Experience Coming to Blu-ray
Those of you still waiting for the Grindhouse films Planet Terror and Death Proof to hit DVD in a complete theatrical package (with the faux trailers!) might just have a reason to rejoice.
Blu-ray.com tells us that The Weinstein Company may be looking at an August 11th release date for the full theatrical experience. An early announcement to retailers indicates that Genius Products and The Weinstein Company are set to release Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's 'Grindhouse' on Blu-ray on August 11. No edition details are available, other than this would be a two-disc set, but it may well be the theatrical Grindhouse double feature.
No official word yet, but we'll keep you posted. Personally I'm all for the shorter version of Death Proof; the extended cut is interminable.

It's been several months since any news has trickled out regarding the planned remake of Oldboy which is in the hands of director Steven Spielberg and actor Will Smith, and now we know why. It's the subject of a complex, behind-the-scenes rights wrangle involving the Japanese publishers of the original manga and the Korean producers of Park Chan-Wook's 2003 cult hit.

Whoa.. Death Proof is so great for me! Two separate sets of voluptuous women are stalked at different times by a scarred stuntman who uses his "death proof" cars to execute his murderous plans with Kurt Russell as Stuntman Mike! :)

I call bravo on the Death Proof! What a total piece of shit. The most boring film ever to come from Tarantino. If it wasn't for Kurt I would've turned it off half way through. Planet Terror was the star of this double feature! Bring on the full set with a nicely cut version of Death Proof... *yawn*

If the full experience comes to DVD I might buy it. I've grown sick of both movies after a few viewings on cable, so I'll really have to think about it.

I have refused to buy either film on DVD until I get the same experience I got in the theater. Trailers and all of course. This news excites me quite dearly.
I also call foul for that Death Proof comment. That's just blasphemy. hahahaha :D

Yet another big steaming turd has been dropped on us DVD viewers. Although if I was to expect any company to do it, it would certainly be those Weinstein assholes.
When will they get it through their thick skulls that not all of us feel the need to buy a new TV, player, sound system, ect. just to have the picture and sound clearer. I am perfectly fine with my DVDs and plan on being so for a good long while (plus with a kid on the way there is no way in hell I could afford to do otherwise had I wanted to).
*edit* Wal Mart has a 3 disc set (yes, standard not blu) for sale Dec. 31 woohoo!...I should add that the release date probably isn't dec. 31, companies will put the last date of the year in their systems if they haven't ironed out a release date yet.

I was going to tell you to relax, because it will be out on DVD too. This announcement was at Blu-ray.com so they aren't going to mention the DVD at their site. Blu-ray only accounts for about 15 percent of sales and the Weinsteins need your money desperately.
I just hope they use one of the awesome theatrical posters for the cover. Would that be asking too much?
