Next Up on the Remake Carousel: Teen Wolf

Warner Bros. Remaking Teen WolfIt appears that Warner Bros. is actively looking for a writer to tackle a new approach toward the much beloved classic Teen Wolf. No surprise, really, but it still hurts a little.

Moviehole broke the news, and while Warner is "not quite certain which way they’re going to go," a lot of people seem to think that Zac Efron will be the first person tapped for the role Michael J. Fox made so famous. But with no script and no director, it'll no doubt be a while before casting comes into play, and who knows who will be the hot thing by then?

Plus, as Moviehole reminds us, UPN briefly flirted with a live-action “Teen Wolf” TV series in 2003, hiring Terry Hughes and Ron Milbauer to write the pilot for a potential series about a college kid (as opposed to a high school kid) who discovers he’s got hairy palms. Didn't get to pilot.

We'll bring you more on the Teen Wolf redux as it comes.

Hopefully this "reimagining" also has a scene of some extra in the crowd whipping out his penis.

Seeing that they want a new version of this makes me groan, but as it's in the very early stages I'm not going to worry about it as it could easily not end up making it to the screen.

Beloved classic????

Sounds like you might've been smoking the devil weed when you wrote this, Deb.

Those two words cannot be used in conjunction with the cheesy, cornball, bland TEEN WOLF.

Maybe you were thinking of the OTHER Michael J Fox 80s flick that actually deserves that status.

File this remake under the "who gives a shit" category.

C'mon! It's a guilty pleasure, man!

Now, "Teen Wolf Too"...holy shit...I think The Hague can actually bring charges against all involved.

Good to see you at DC once again, David. It's been forever. Been busy?

@Daniel - I was just about to say that I bet Zac Effron is going to be all over this. Warner Bros are going to milk this to teenage girls like there's no tomorrow.

The first film is beloved, but it's not very good. It's corny as fuck.

My gf just brought home the teen wolf movies and I made fun of her.

I can actually picture Efron in the role. It could happen but would have to be a much different tone than the first film. If he can't do it, maybe all three of the Jonas bros. can become werewolves.
