There are few studios that embrace offbeat and non-mainstream film projects like Halo-8 does. Case in point: Pop Skull, a manic, twisted, drug-infused, and award-winning psychological horror film directed and co-written by Adam Wingard.
Wingard co-wrote Pop Skull (review) with its star, Lane Hughes, and the film is currently slated for a string of theatrical events (tied in with similarly demented Halo-8 upcoming releases Godkiller and In a Spiral State) followed by a DVD release on July 28, 2009.
They released the full official trailer today, and you can also click here to check out the film's official site. But first, a little synopsis: Pop Skull depicts the lonely and disjointed life of Daniel, a young Alabama pill addict, as his efforts to cope with the trials of his day-to-day life collide with the increasing influence of murderous and displaced spirits that inhabit his home. Plagued by ghosts, Daniel discovers his home holds a secret to a grisly crime... a crime he's doomed to repeat if he can't prevail against the forces that haunt him.
